Transforming our schools into professional learning communities demands quality leadership. Leadership that is a commitment to the heart, mind and spirit. Leadership that is about the future. And leadership where intentions becomes reality.
Maar ondanks een transformationele leider zal een docent zichzelf nooit volledig kunnen ontwikkelen als de faciliteiten er niet voor zijn:

Maar de docent met zijn eigen overtuigingen speelt de hoofdrol in zijn persoonlijke ontwikkeling.

Het boek beschrijft verder een aantal interessante manier om te leren luisteren naar elkaar en te leren samenwerken in een groep.
Eigenlijk is professionaliseren niet meer dan jezelf leren kennen, weten waar je behoeften liggen en samen met je team durven leren. Open staan voor elkaar en luisteren naar elkaar. En soms is het idee van de ander niet direct jouw idee, maar luister dan eens goed…..
